This blog started out life as the "Site updates and Tudor news" page on my original tudor.simplenet.com website in 1997 – which, it turns out, was also the year that the term 'weblog' was coined (apparently the contraction 'blog' came along two years later). With the advent of easy-to-use and easy-to-add-to-my-website blogging, it seemed appropriate to change the news page over to a blog. Since I could back-date posts, I migrated some of the old news items over to the blog as "archive posts" so the old news wouldn't be lost and it would look like I have been blogging since 1997 (which, in a way, I have).
